Class Experience

This class requires parent participation and will include instruction in basic movement and sports related skills like throwing, catching, aiming at a target, ball control, balance, flexibility, running, jumping, skipping, hopping, and more. No previous experience is required and this class is appropriate for boys and girls of all abilities. We are happy to provide inclusive modifications to ALL activities, but we need to know in advance of class if your child will need any physical modifications.

All classes begin with a fun warm up followed by guided lessons from the coach. Instructions are conveyed through age appropriate associative imagery which engages the kids and makes instruction easily understandable. Coaches will explain, demonstrate, and then watch and help each participant as they practice the skills on their own. Each class ends with a fun game.

Learning Goals

Our main goal is to teach students that fitness can be fun, and that it can easily be part of their every day lives. In our classes, students will learn new sports and movement skills or refine existing skills. Students will be able to try new sports and activities in a non-competitive environment, with kind and patient coaching.

Parental Guidance
This class requires parent participation to ensure safety for students. There is inherent risk involved in all physical activity Participation in any sports or movement program inherently carries the risk of injury, and this is especially true for young children who are unsupervised. In order to mitigate the risk of accident or injury, we require that parents take an active role in assisting children between ages 3 and 5. We strongly encourage parents of kids older than age 5 to assist as well as it enhances the class experience. Other steps required to mitigate the risk of injury or accident include participating in a spacious and empty area. Items such as furniture, appliances, small electronics, cords, wires, toys, pets, etc. should be removed from the activity space before class. In addition, all participants are required to wear athletic shoes and have access to water during the lesson.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Playball is an international sports and movement program coaching children around the world, and it's now available to anyone, anywhere, here online! We've taken our in-person program and have made some amazing adjustments so that we can offer the same high-quality, interactive, beneficial program live through Zoom.

Our classes are designed to meet the developmental needs of specific age groups and skill levels. For our younger participants, parent assistance will be required. Parent participation level is indicated in each class description.

Playball is the perfect program for kids who need gross motor skill development, learn or try a new sport without the pressure of being on a team, or for kids who want to improve their overall fitness levels. We make fitness fun for everyone!

*Our coaches are all certified Youth Exercise Specialists through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. They have been all been teaching Playball in person for 10+ years and have coached kids and adults in sports and fitness related activities for over 20 years each.
