1-2 hours per week. It is recommended that students practice 10-15 minutes per day for 3-4 days per week. Optional practice logs will be provided.
Assessment
Each student will receive personalized written feedback for each each audio/video recording they submit. Written feedback will include things that they excelled at and things they need to practice.

Class Experience

In this 4 session flex class, beginning ukulele students will learn to play "Surf". No prior knowledge is required, but the students need to already have their ukuleles tuned to the notes G, C, E and A.

I will use flash cards, games, and modeling techniques in this class.

Since practice is an important part of learning an instrument, I recommend that students practice 10-15 minutes, 3-4 days per week for a total of 30+ minutes practice per week. Practice logs will be provided.

Since this is a flexible, recorded class instead of a live class, students will have the opportunity to send me audio and/or video links each week to check their progress. I will provide personalized written feedback for each recording a student sends. I will also include models of how to correctly play each section of the song in the pre-recorded videos.

I have taught this song to dozens of students! It is a perfect "first song" to play on the ukulele because it easy to play but sounds very impressive, especially when played fast.

I have taught this song to several ukulele classes and it is always a favorite. If the student can play it fast, it is a very impressive song to play for family and friends.
