Class Experience
Research demonstrates that learning is attained and retained through games and fun. Why? Endorphins, the feel good hormone, is released while competing and having fun. Endorphins increase happiness. Bonus, endorphins also increase memory! Each class will start with a 5 minute or less interactive lesson or review of a math topic. Students will play games online through the gaming platforms Gimkit and Blooket on my private accounts. Sportsmanship is an added skill gained through this course....
Addition, subtraction, math vocabulary, geometry, place value, coordinate planes, and many more math topics Sportsmanship Enjoying math with peers
I love teaching and learning. I normally teach English classes on Outschool, yet, I still love other subjects. I taught math in elementary and middle school throughout my 15 years as a public school teacher. Math was difficult for me when I was in school. It doesn't have to be so difficult. I love math, now that I understand it. It is important that students know math fundamentals and have knowledge of the different areas of math. It is great brain exercise. Plus, math is used in the every day world. I have done a lot of reading and research on the positive effects of games for learning. Another important factor to increase learning is repetition. Gimkit and Blooket are perfect gaming platforms to use for repetition. I want students to have fun learning how to do math as they also remember the skills. I taught special education for 15 years in public schools. I have taught online for the last 5 years. I also homeschool my son. Degrees: Bachelor of Science-Psychology Teaching Certification Master of Education I keep my teaching certification active.
We will use the website www.gimkit.com and www.blooket.com. Learners can play without an account. We use a private server so only those that I invite may join.
