Our lessons will provide a supportive, creative space for students to discover the joy of making music. Whether you're new to the instrument or continuing your studies, my goal is to foster your love of music through tailored instruction and a strengths-based approach.

Most of all, I hope you'll walk away feeling empowered in your ability to express yourself musically. My hope is that the music you learn brings you years of enrichment - both in technical skill and personal fulfillment. Let's get started!
Based in Toronto, Alvin is a distinguished saxophonist with a prolific musical career with over two decades of experience teaching and performing. He received scholarships to attend Berklee College of Music, the University of Miami, and the University of North Texas.

Alvin’s accolades include the distinguished Fraser MacPherson Scholarship in 1999 and the HIGH NOTE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE at the 2001 JUNOS. He has also been a recipient of the Canadian Music Indie Award with SEKOYA and has received nominations for the Urban Music Canada Award, the Juno Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 2005, the National Jazz Awards for Best Electronica Album, and the Awit Award for Best Dance Song.

He was also commissioned by the Canada Council for the Arts to compose and arrange for the Hard Rubber Orchestra during the 2010 Winter Olympics opening gala, and he composed and produced the Official Song for the Philippine Olympic Team for the 2016 Olympics, commissioned by Gilas Pilipinas.

Alvin has had the honor of sharing stages with eminent artists Kenny Werner, Kurt Elling, Paul Anka, Kevyn Lettau, Lee Ritenour, Steve Houghton, Tony Monaco, Edsel Gomez, and Phil Nimmons among others. His performances with ensembles such as The Hard Rubber Orchestra, Jill Townsend Orchestra, and the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, highlight the diversity and expansiveness of his musical collaborations.

He has performed in festivals across the globe, including the Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Penang Jazz Festival, Singapore One Festival, Macao HUSH Festival, Seattle’s Bumpershoot Festival, London Sun Festival, and the Philippine International Jazz Festival.
