We will be making play dough with two ingredients. We will explore two different colors and use words like "squishy" and "gooey" to describe the texture. Students will learn basic measurements used in cooking. One cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 cup and Tablespoons.. We will use measuring cups and spoons for this. They will be exploring light and dark colors. When we mix food coloring in, it will be light in color at first, if we add more, the color turns darker. The students will talk about...
Play Dough Conditioner (1) cup of your favorite smell. I use Suave apple but you can use anything that is reasonably priced Cornstarch (2) cups Food coloring (2) dfferent colors 2 bowls or containers (food coloring may stain plastic) Play dough can be stored in the fridge after use. I store in small lunch size plastic bags. We will have 2 different colors of play dough. They should last one week. After this time, please discard. If not kept in the refrigerator, it won't last as long. Apron or clothes that may get stained from food coloring. Hair tie for long hair. Hands may stain from food coloring. This class may run over depending on the students.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Young students may need minimal supervision with food coloring. The young ones love to use the whole bottle. Food coloring DOES stain.
A dash of letters, a pinch of vocabulary and a smidgen of color.
