Description

Class Experience

Welcome to Play-doh play! Play-doh invites us to imagine and use our creativity in wonderfully hands on ways. This ongoing class gets our artistic and playful muscles working through a variety of activities! Each week will have a theme guiding our play-doh exploration. Some weeks, we will use play mats to create scenes. Some weeks, we will use unique tools to add interesting texture to our play-doh. Other weeks, we will follow recipes to make homemade play-doh! The opportunities are endless....

Each week, learners will need play-doh. All play mats will be provided by the teacher and can be printed before hand. If you would like to protect the play mat for multiple uses, I would suggest lamination or packing tape.

The basic play-doh recipe we will follow requires the following: 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cream of tartar, mixing bowls, spoon, 1-2 tablespoons cooking oil, 1-2 cups warm water
**Depending on your learner's experience with measuring ingredients, I would encourage having all ingredients pre-measured by the start of class.**

2/6: birthday cake mat
2/13: ingredients for play-doh recipe, plus blue or purple food coloring, glitter (silver and gold stars)
2/20: legos or other small blocks
2/27: face mat
3/6: ingredients for play-doh recipe, cookie cutters, markers
3/13: shells

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parents, please be advised that play-doh does contain wheat. If your learner has a senstivity to wheat or celiac disease, please let me know and I would be happy to provide alternative options for supplies.
