Class Experience
Please note -- Students should already have a firm understanding of writing a complete sentence before taking this class. We will begin with a short lesson on 5 sentence paragraphs and the steps in the writing process. Then, we will walk through the writing process together to plan and write a main idea sentence, three support sentences and a closing sentence in answer to a writing prompt on baseball/softball. I believe giving students interesting topics to write about allows them to have fun writing! I also believe writing gets better and easier with practice, practice, practice! So look for other paragraph writing classes to come! I have a journalism degree and have been teaching writing and grammar for 15+ years in my homeschool and online.
(Optional) Students should share their paragraph with a parent, friend, or other family member.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
