Class experience
If you already build plastic scale models or want to try this fun hobby for the first time, this class is for you! In this class, your young engineer will be able to discuss scale model building, work on their own project, and talk with friends who also enjoy scale modeling. This class is student-driven, so I will be there to provide information, add ideas, and give suggestions for your model's construction, painting, and weathering. -Build a collectionAfter working summers as a teacher for several years, I decided to take a summer off and quickly became bored. I decided to return to my childhood hobby, building plastic scale models. I am now a professional scale model maker and would enjoy sharing my passion with others. Over 90% of my collection is military, but I have built buildings, boats, aircraft, and vehicles.
Once you sign up for the class, I will supply links to recommended items, brand names, and websites that offer the best prices.
A small hobby knife (Exacto) is used extensively, and measures must be taken when handled by young hobbyists. I will stress the safety of this tool while being used in class and suggest the guardian do as well. Plastic glue (including super glue), paint, and clear coats are also used, and safety precautions should be used when using these items. Directions and cautions are labeled on all products and should be read and followed while using.
