Plants vs. Zombies teach resilience, problem-solving, strategy, and how to get back up and try again. What You Should Expect Game Chat is here to allow students a chance to socialize and interact about topics that they find interesting. We'll talk about video games, gamer culture, game development, and relevant industry news. Teaching Material and Style My clubs are intentionally less structured than most of my standard camps or classes. I do start each class with several related topics of conversation prepared like the latest gaming industry news or new release dates or rumors. Rather than having to cover the set curriculum, I guide the discussion through related topics. What I Expect Students who sign up for this class are enthusiastic about the video game we are playing. Students that have the best experience in the club environment are the ones that will talk and engage in subjects as they come up. Because this is learner-driven and designed to be a more social experience.

Parental Guidance
Parents need to know that Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is a third-person shooter for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs with constant cartoon combat. This is the latest chapter in the popular Plants vs. Zombies franchise, which has covered games, apps, toys, and more. The range of attacks is broad -- the plants shoot seeds from gun-like mouths and chomp with giant jawed bulbs, while the zombies shoot lasers and detonate bundles of dynamite -- but the fighting, though fast-paced and frenetic, never involves blood or gore. Defeated enemies simply fall to the ground and disappear. Players' plant and zombie avatars have intense visual style and animations but betray no thoughts or emotions beyond an eagerness to fight and destroy each other. Players who work together and cooperate as part of a team are bound to experience more success, and local split-screen multiplayer offers an opportunity for kids in the same room to have a positive social gaming experience. Parents should also be aware that a virtual store allows players to spend real-world money within the game.

Wisconsin Teaching Certificate in Special Education
Hello! My name is Teacher Hannah. I have been a teacher for 10 years. My experiences include public elementary and middle school, after school programs, summer camp settings, online setting, autism therapy, and I am also a special education teacher in the public elementary setting. My career has allowed me to teach a range of students which includes, gifted students, students with specific learning needs, students with behavioral needs, students on the Autism spectrum, and English language learners.
I have taught many different subjects throughout my years. Some of my favorite topics to teach include but are not limited to read alouds, Harry Potter, exercise (any physical activities), yoga, any and all animals, discussion groups, space, social and emotional learning, self-regulation, and many more!
When I am working with students, I encourage them to create a sense of community among themselves. Working together verses as an independent instructor and a group of students help create a safe place for ideas to flow. I want students to leave my classroom as well-rounded people who can interact with their peers as independent thinkers.
I encourage my students to make mistakes and learn from them and to have a growth mindset. When children challenge themselves they are exercising and growing their brains. When a student fails at something I want them to see it as a learning opportunity. Learning to challenge themselves in and outside the classroom will help them become persistent, resilient, well-rounded individuals.
When I am not teaching I enjoy drawing, reading, hiking, exercising, singing, dancing, nature, animals, playing video games, listening to music, taking care of my autistic brother, and being with my spouse and family.
I look forward to seeing you in the classroom and all the learning and fun we will have!
