Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about the different parts of the plant cell and how these parts function together to maintain life. Their progress will be gauged based on their final project of a resume and participation in a job interview as if they were cell organelles.
I am currently a high school biology teacher for our homeschool hybrid program. I am fascinated by the wonderful inner workings of our cells and how they sustain our lives. I love making sure all are involved and that they engage in the learning process. I love to be creative and to combine creativity with learning. I believe learning is much more beneficial and fun that way!
Students will maintain a journal throughout the class and the last day of class they will participate in a job interview for their chosen organelle. Homework throughout the week will be to prepare for this "interview" to be done in class.
Hand outs will be provided for students to complete as needed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress will be measured as they participate in class discussions and through the completion of their final job interview at the end of class.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
