Planet Walk: A Journey Through Our Solar System

Elyse Langer-Smith
Average rating:4.9Number of reviews:(7)
In this one time space science class, we will explore a scale model of the solar system by "walking" from the sun to Neptune and stopping to learn about every planet on the way. Be prepared to move!

Class experience

No materials are required for this class, but students might like to have some of the props on hand that I'll be using to describe the sizes of the planets in our scale model. Here are some useful props, but they are not necessary to participate:
• a soccer ball (or a ball of a similar size)
• a sewing needle
• a peppercorn
• a quarter
• a nickel
• a peanut or a coffee bean
