Description
Class Experience
During this lesson, learners will work with me and the group to plan their dream trip to Japan after learning about trip planning and the tools used. Students will NOT end class with a complete itinerary in most cases as it takes weeks/months to plan a trip, but this will get them in the right direction with the tools they need. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn a valuable life skill in trip planning that is accompanied by organizing skills and research skills. Plus learning about another culture is always a good thing that helps us keep an open mind. Students will NOT end class with a complete itinerary as it takes weeks/months to plan a trip, but this will get them in the right direction with the tools they need.
Being a world traveler, Japan is one of the many beautiful countries that I have been lucky enough to have visited multiple times. I have done extensive research of Japan as I was going to live there while teaching ESL in local schools. Covid-19 kept me from doing that for now, but I have studied for many years about the culture as it was going to be my new home and have witnessed the culture first hand in my many trips to the country.
Students will need to conduct research about Japan for their dream trips between Day/Class 1 and Day/Class 2. Shouldn't feel like homework as students are planning something personal that they have an interest in, but it is work that is to be done at home so....
Only things students will need during the class will be google.com. Better if they have a google account themselves or parents' as we will be using google web based apps (free).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
