Class Experience
In this camp session kids will learn how to create dynamic pixel art characters for games and animations or just for fun! No previous experience is necessary. WHAT IS PIXEL ART? Pixel Art is an art form that was made popular during the earliest days of making Video Games. Digital game artists and designers created characters and artifacts by coloring individual pixels. This gives the images a blocky 'look', much like the characters in classic video arcade games such as Pac-Man, Space...
Artech has been teaching kids to code and get creative with technology for more than 15 years. Our instructors craft highly dynamic and creative programs and classes. We incorporate the creative arts to engage and encourage creative problem solving.
We encourage learners to keep creative and keep experimenting with different forms of expression!
Learners can have some graph paper and colored pencils on hand. You could download and print some starter sheets that will be made available in the classroom closer to the start date of camps.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
6 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
We will be using a free, web-based editor called Piskel App. There is no sign up required. Learners will be able to save their Pixel Art & Animations on their own computer. Outschool requires that we have Parental Consent for children to use this web-based app.
