Preventive health wasn't very popular with pirates. We'll get a first-hand perspective of what went wrong and some sound advice on how to prevent many of the ailments and injuries that could still plague us now. We'll mix history and health on this epic voyage! Students are welcome to be in character as we explore the nutrient deficiencies pirates faced and the food choices that could have prevented them. I have an M.S. in health education and a B.S. in health, wellness, and nutrition. I have spent most of the last decade developing and teaching curriculum for youth and family community health programs. I've had the opportunity to help children and adults learn about the prevention and reversal of chronic health issues and feel more capable in the face of confusing health and nutrition information.
