In this class students will be taught to read and write numbers with three and then four digits. Students will learn what each digit represents in terms of its place and face value. Students will need to have the number cards from the resources printed out as a resource. Students will participate in a place value game. To start with they will shuffle the numbers cards and deal out 5 cards to themselves. For each round the students choose 3 or 4 of the number cards from their pile to match the criteria. There are three points available for a win. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner. For each number made by the student, I will ensure they are aware of what the digits represent. Children need to have previous knowledge of numbers to a hundred.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi my name is Zoe Farrow! I have a BA Honours in Primary Education and I have been a teacher in the UK for the last 14 years. I have taught children in school between the ages of 3-11 years old and I have also taught one-on-one lessons for 5 years with children of a variety of ages. I have recently led a whole school improvement project for raising the attainment of all children in maths which was successful.
As a mathematics specialist teacher, it is my responsibility to ensure my lessons on Outschool are delivered with high quality teaching. I also have a passion for other curriculum subjects so I will be able to deliver quality teaching across the diverse primary curriculum – from science to the arts, history, geography, Physical Education and basic computing skills.
Through my teaching and lessons, I will inspire my students to overcome barriers, solve problems, and elevate their enthusiasm for maths. I will assist my students to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are as well as embrace the difference of others. My classroom is a unique community and my role as a teacher is to assist each child in developing their own potential and learning styles. I am calm, patient and encouraging to all learners while making learning as fun and interactive as possible.
A fun fact about myself is that I absolutely love rollercoasters and theme parks!
