PROMOTION: Get $2 off my classes with coupon code ZHANGNEWFRIEND2 until Apr 19, 2022. In this 4-week class, students will learn Pinyin from the very beginning. We will learn how to pronounce, how to write and read Pinyin, which is an useful and important tool for their future Mandarin Chinese learning if they wish to read or type independently some day. We are going to learn Pinyin in a fun way, students will learn with a Chinese native speaker(yes, that's me!). We will explore the different pronunciations between Chinese Pinyin and English alphabets. We will focus on those "hard to pronounce". We will also practice and repeat during and after the class to enhance what we learned. Our topics will be: Week 1: Pinyin table and tunes Week 2: Initials Week 3: Special finals Week 4: Whole syllable recognition Students will learn through prepared slides at the beginning; then we'll play interactive games to practice; finally, we will practice spelling independently and learn some Chinese words accordingly. Students are encouraged to answer/ ask questions, share opinions and thoughts, participate in our discussions and games during the class. It is also a good chance to make new friends, socialize in a group and make new connection with others. As I know how important it is to provide an engaging learning environment for student, I'll keep the class open and inclusive to everyone. We may not learn so much at the beginning, but “ Rome was not built in a day”, right?

Teacher expertise and credentials
I had been living in Beijing, one of the most historic city in China for more than 30 years, and grew up in Hutong and kept all the customs generation by generation. I taught mandarin in Oklahoma, US for 2 years and voluntarily provided Chinese culture sharing club in the local public elementary school for 3 years. I LOVE Chinese culture and this unique language. My dream is to support more and more students to know Chinese culture and Mandarin Chinese. I'm passionate to work with children on Chinese cultural learning and Mandarin teaching, because it's not only full of fun for me, but also meaningful for me.
