Description

Class Experience

During "Pinkalicious Story Time", students will enjoy enthusiastic read alouds from three stories in the "I Can Read" series of Pinkalicious books. Students will learn a variety of speaking & listening skills through a combination of teacher-led reading and peer discussions.

Through the use of live video meetings and lively conversations, students will dance into the delightful world of Pinkalicious. Students will be provided with the opportunity to interact with the teacher and students via...

-With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
-Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events.
-Ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text.
-Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups.
-Follow agreed-upon rules for discussions (e.g., listening to others with care, speaking one at a time about the topics and texts under discussion).

I am offering "Pinkalicious Story Time" so that students can gather together in a nurturing environment to engage with interesting texts and diverse people. My expertise in reading and questioning strategies makes me an excellent leader for this class.

Please note that students do not need to have copies of these books in order to attend classes; teacher will share digital copies of the books aloud. If students already have copies of the books, and wish to bring them to class, they may, but it is not required.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

If students need technological assistance during class, please provide as necessary.
