Beginner Level
Welcome to our Kids Pilates Mat Class for beginners! Our experienced Certified Pilates instructor and physical therapist is dedicated to helping your child develop strength, flexibility, and coordination in a fun and supportive environment. Through gentle exercises and movements, kids will learn the fundamentals of Pilates while improving their overall physical well-being. 
Our encouraging approach focuses on building confidence and promoting a positive attitude towards fitness and other learners. Join us for a class that will not only benefit your child's physical health, but also help them develop lifelong healthy habits. Sign up today and watch your child thrive!

Each session will include a strength and stretch workout using the foundations of Pilates  and build a community of inclusivity and connection to each other and our bodies.

Class Structure:

-Greetings and intro 

-Warm up on the floor or in standing

-The workout!
Pilates repertoire will include 8-15 variations of the following:
The Hundred
Roll up
Rolling like a ball 
the ab series
swan
swimming
Single leg kick
sidelying kick series
planks
push ups
spine stretch forward
saw
teaser
standing arm work

-Wrap up: questions and comments are welcomed and learners are asked to share if they would like to. Positive feedback and connections between instructor and learners as well as learner to learner is encouraged by the instructor.

What can you expect from the instructor: a welcoming space where learners are met where they are and encouraged to participate and build strength and flexibility, safely. Modifications and advancements are recommended for any student who may need a little help or any extra challenge. The instructor provides learners with a challenging but doable workout and has the ability to be creative to help your learner be successful.

Week 1: Introduction to Pilates, learn and practice hundred prep, roll up, modified ab series, bridging, swan, swimming prep, plank front and side
Week 2: Review and practice exercises from week 1 and add rolling like a ball
Week 3: Review and practice exercise from week 2 and add sidelying leg series
Week 4: Review and practice exercises from week 3 and add full hundred
Week 5: Review and practice exercises from week 4 and add Pilates push up!
Week 6: Review and practice exercises week 5 and add more new exercises each week

This class is a great way to add strength and conditioning to your learners weekly routine. The benefits of Pilates include improved posture, strength, flexibility, and mind body connection.

Parental Guidance
Please notify the instructor should your learner need accommodations for a limitation or injury. Point your camera at your learner’s mat on the floor so the instructor can watch their movements. Bring water to drink to keep our learners hydrated!
