Class Experience

In this one-time action-packed social event, social gamers will team up and take on an intense movie-inspired challenge: fighting off waves of hostile piglin mobs, powerful bosses, and even chicken jockeys. Using an exciting add-on pack (with permission from its creators), players will dive into loud, high-energy battles armed with crazy-cool tools like the Bucket Chucket, Potato Launcher, and Battle Ax. This event is all about teamwork, wild battles, and big moments of victory rather than quiet discussion time.

The event is neurodivergent affirming, making sure every learner feels safe to jump in at their own comfort level. Whether your child loves charging into battle, coming up with strategies, or celebrating wins with friends, they’ll find their place in this lively, educator hosted, private Minecraft Realm in Ms. Jolene's new structure.

Notes:
This class is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. The Minecraft Movie Add-On is used with written permission from Spark Universe Minecraft Studio. The class listing image is from my own game and created using Canva Pro. Gamer tag friending with Ms. Jolene is required to join my secure, private, class-only server. While we’ll chat about the Minecraft movie, having seen it is not required. As long as learners are open to hearing movie details from their peers, they are welcome.

Parental Guidance
• Minecraft Bedrock Edition must be used, with multiplayer and cross-platform online play permissions toggled on. Bedrock Edition is available on Windows 11 PC, iPads, Fire tablets, Switch, Xbox, and mobile devices. • Mutual gamer tag friending is required to join our private Minecraft realm. Please share gamer tag names through a direct conversation message. • In our Outschool Zoom classroom and private Minecraft world, inclusion and respect for each player's creations are key. We stand against griefing: no tricking, trapping, stealing, or destroying others' items or pets. We foster a collaborative environment where all learners and their creations are valued and celebrated. • Participation is allowed only during the scheduled class time. Ensure simultaneous presence in the Outschool Zoom classroom during Minecraft class activities. • Class video recordings are not shared in social gaming classes to respect and protect all learners. • Monitored optional small group Zoom breakout room is available for peer collaboration • Communication is welcomed, including the Outschool classroom Zoom using voice/microphone, Zoom video (which can be on or off once learner camera check in is completed), Zoom chat text, Minecraft chat text, and avatar actions in the game. Learners are given multiple options to engage, and digital hand raising is helpful when needed. • To maintain a positive atmosphere in our Outschool Zoom meeting, I will take care to hold space for learners, occasionally using muting to facilitate focus or address background conversations or distracting noises. This specific event is expected to be quite loud throughout with excited learners enjoying the EPIC battle. • Minecraft contains cartoon type violence without blood or gore. This battle event involves a new hostile Minecraft piglins we will battle. Sensitive learners should preview this free Minecraft Marketplace Minecraft Movie Add-On Pack from Spark Universe and view the hostile piglin mobs in their own worlds before enrolling. • Although the Minecraft movie will be discussed, learners are not required to have seen the movie as long as they are open to hearing details from the movie from learners who have. • My Minecraft Carnival one-time experience is a great fit for more sensitive learners who do not enjoy battling hostile mobs.
