Description

Class Experience

In this class, our little learners will listen to the original story about Pigs Adventure.

While students listen to the story they will be watching and listening to our sight words. They will have the opportunity to practice writing our sight words or letters throughout the story with game time at the end. Each one of my Pigs Adventures follow similar format but have varying activities and story level.

Please note, I use Nearpod to guide our little learners through the story and activities. If your little learner does not know how to draw on the screen, I would appreciate you showing them how. Parents must understand and gauge their own child’s ability to interact on the screen for our activities. All of our little learners are unique and special with their own level of understanding and ability to use technology. Touch screens or iPads are the easiest for most learners but not required at all. If your child uses the mouse well that is great or if you can assist your learner, that will work too. There are some activities that are only able to be done on screen such as games and word search. Writing our letters, words and drawing our pictures can be done on paper and held up to the camera (quite common) if your little learner prefers. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me prior to class time.

The Nearpod file share code for our lesson will be in our Outschool classroom 30 minutes prior to class and again offered in the zoom class chatbox if you require assistance with setting it up. You can run Nearpod on a separate device but linking through the OS classroom or run it in zoom tiling it with our class. It is all personal preference. I encourage you to link to the story prior to class time if you are able as this will get our class moving much faster.
Little Learners are encouraged to have a pen and paper available in case they prefer to do their letters and/ or words on paper or in case of it issues. Please feel free to bring a stuffed animal friend along for the adventure, costumes welcome also!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses Nearpod. The code and setup will being supplied at the beginning of class. The story is shared with students through Nearpod, the story is an original story written by myself, Shannon K. Auringer.
