This one-time class is the perfect opportunity for students who enjoy drawing, socializing, and having an exciting artistic experience. Grab some paper and crayons and/or markers and let's draw! Class will always begin promptly with a greeting/check-in. The teacher will first discuss the tools of a writer as well as some important art elements students may want to include in an illustration. Then, the teacher will provide a brief lesson of selecting something to draw about and how to tell a brief story about the drawing through demonstration and modeling. Students will then create a picture on their own. Next, each willing student will have an opportunity to share his/her wonderful drawing and tell a brief story about their picture with teacher guidance if needed. If students do not wish to share their picture or tell a story about it, then that is perfectly fine as well. Instead, students may select to send the teacher a screenshot of their picture after class. The class will conclude with suggestions of additional extension activities that students can complete beyond our class time. This class will truly be a very stress free, rewarding, and unique experience for all learners as it also builds confidence, improves listening skills, and develops oral language skills as well. This class is part of the Pictures Tell Stories series of classes. Enjoy this class and then feel free to sign up for the others as well. Hope to see you soon in Teacher Jordan's class. Happy Learning!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello prospective parents and guardians! My name is Teacher Jordan. I always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. When I was younger, I played school with my friends and I was always the teacher. I have always loved teaching and learning. I am so excited to be a part of the Outschool community and being able to reach such a wide variety of learners.
With regards to my professional background, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in English and later my Masters of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in curriculum development. I have been a credentialed elementary school teacher for over 30 years teaching preschool to third grade. I enjoy teaching all grades and I am passionate about teaching foundational skills and concepts in language arts, math, art, socio-emotional development, and interactive fun games. Personally, I am a very patient, kind, entertaining, knowledgeable, professional, and an awesomely fun teacher.
My classes will always be engaging, interactive, and exciting. I love to make learning fun especially using visuals, props, music, and movement. I enjoy assisting learners in gaining greater self confidence in their own abilities. I believe that all children can learn but in their own way. As a teacher, I always cater to a child’s strengths while at the same time I will embrace his/her weaknesses. I enjoy each and every opportunity that comes my way to be the best teacher that I can be to all of my students.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three adult sons along with my fur baby, Champ, traveling, taking long walks, cycling, online shopping, and dining out. Can you guess what my favorite food is? (Chocolate but rice comes in second place!)
I look forward to the opportunity of meeting your learner, creating memories, and sharing my passion for teaching and learning with them. I hope that our time together will be a very rewarding educational experience. See you soon. Happy Learning!
