Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their sketching skills, comprehension of cranial anatomy for the sake of drawing a face, ability to shade, and overall skills of creating realistic drawings.
I received my AA in studio art in 2016, and I have been teaching art since 2020, when I led a paint tutorial for a sixth grade birthday party that was almost cancelled due to the pandemic. I really enjoyed the experience and became excited about the idea of sharing art and creativity with other artists. I love both the science and subjectiveness of art--I think there's a lot we can learn from it, and I can't wait to share it with your learners!
-Pencils (2H, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B recommended): $6+ -Stumps and/or tortillons: $3 -Eraser -For day 5: At least 5 magazine photos of faces at different angles. If using a tablet, downloaded images are fine. ***OPTIONAL:*** Tablet, stylus, and drawing program Charcoal (black vine, black and/or white compressed): $4+
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The skull on day 1 may be unsettling to some artists. Please reach out if your learner thinks that may be the case for them, and we will discuss options.
