Picture Book Parade Book Club

In this book club, we will read one picture book a week to learn a variety of skills such as reading strategies, grammar, character ed, and writing. Students will be required to purchase the book or check the book out from the library.

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will engage in collaborative conversations about a variety of topics and texts. They will use information from illustrations and text to show an understanding of a story.
Students will be required to read the selected book prior to attending the live session.  There will be activities that will need paper, crayons, and other crafting items.  Please check to see what is needed BEFORE coming to class.

Jackson -Carla and the Christmas Cornbread by Carla Hall -The Biggest Little Boy: A Christmas Story by Poppy Harlow -printer -Crafting supplies: crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, paper, 5 popsicle sticks, construction paper, 2 clothespins
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Kahoot will be used to review story elements.  Nearpod will be used to present information and allow for peer collaboration.  Students will not need an account.  I will share a code with them to enter the platform.
