Class Experience

Art history can be more than memorization!
This class offers an engaging and creative approach to learning about art history. I aim to inspire young artists to explore different approaches to their art-making while simultaneously learning about very influential art movements.

We will have an introductory lecture and class discussion about Cubism. During this time, students will learn about influential artists in Cubism and the stylistic approaches they used that set them apart from all previous artists.

Students will be able to synthesize these concepts through the creation of their Cubist self-portraits.

At the end of our workshop, I will provide students with additional worksheets and links to keep them creating and exploring beyond the classroom.

I aim to provide all learners with a welcoming and safe learning environment where curiosity, exploration, and mistakes are encouraged. I hope to spark a passion for art-making and life-long learning!
Learning Goals
