This class uses the Pianimals, Succeeding at the Piano (R) piano method, or any basic piano method we choose.
Subtitled A Method for Everyone, Succeeding at the Piano is course that covers piano lessons, theory, technique, and performance pieces written in a very accessible way, and a way that is a very logical progression for the piano student. It has been written by Helen Marlais, a very successful composer of piano teaching materials.
The Pianimals course is a more unconventional course with music broken down into very digestible pieces. Almost all famous pieces and songs. 20 minute long lessons.
Class Experience
This course uses the Succeeding at the Piano piano series. I teach according to the student's needs and progress. After a point, I will recommend the student attend a 30 minute class. This class is only 20 minutes long. Students do not usually need to be pushed to practice because they can play songs right away and success is built in! I have many years of teaching experience. I studied piano, jazz, composition, theory and musical theater at The Eastman School of Music after attending Florida State University.
I will assess the level of the student when we start, and we will progress to the future books as well ASAP. Holiday books are optional but encouraged if you are okay with those.
