Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to keep a steady beat at various tempos. The students will be able to clap quarter notes, and eighth notes. They will be able to read rhythms and clap the rhythm cards. The students will be able to play combination patterns with quarter notes and eighth notes. They will be able to recognize and identify the symbols for quarter notes , eighth notes, a quarter rest, treble clef, and the music staff. The students will be able to pat quarter notes and eighth notes at the same time, using two hands. They will use rhythms chants with words that match the rhythms we are learning. This is a fully participatory class. Students are invited and encouraged to participate. I will screen share the rhythms sometimes to have the students clap what they see, after I have taught them how to read the rhythms. They will "echo clap" the rhythms that I clap for them.
I am an Outschool teacher that has been teaching online since May 2020. I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. My teaching experience includes all types of student learning styles, and levels. I have experience with classroom teaching at the preschool level, elementary and high school level. I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland. I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
They will be able to practice the rhythms on their own, based on the rhythm charts that I will post in the classroom.
