This is a single meeting class that you can take as many times as you like. We will continue where we left off in the previous class.

For Students who Have Previous Experience -
I will evaluate their level of playing and musicianship. Then the lesson will be crafted to their ability and musical interests.

For Total Beginners -
We will go over the finger numbers and practice playing with the right hand, in home position.
This is a music class that will go over some basic rhythms and playing with a steady beat, to the tempo.
We will practice playing notes and learn how to create beautiful sounds on the piano.
My teaching style is relaxed and casual, with an emphasis on enjoying music.
This lesson is designed to spark an interest in the student, for music and learning to play the piano.
-If the student takes this same class again, we will continue where we left off in the previous class. You can take this class as many times as you like. I also have a 30 minute lesson option, as well as three week sessions.
Learning Goals
To give the student some experience playing on the piano, and getting comfortable with the keyboard.
The student will be able to play something that sounds pretty and that they can feel confident about playing.
The student will know where middle C is, and how the notes go in order on the piano.
The student will learn the finger numbers and how to use the right hand fingers to play in home position.
The student will get a feel for correct hand position and seating posture.
My goal is to spark the learner's interest in continuing to learn music, and to increase their confidence about learning to play an instrument.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Third Party Tools - YouTube I will ask that you label the piano keys before the class, if possible. Students learn the keys faster and can play simple songs sooner, if they have the piano keys labelled. Occasionally I may play a song that we are going to learn, on YouTube. This is to give the student a feel for the beat of the song and how the song goes, before we learn it.
