In this introductory class I will get students excited about playing music! Absolutely no experience with music or piano is needed, although students will need a keyboard or piano. I will start at the beginning and teach the notes on the keys, how to read movement on the staff, and finger numbers. I am a friendly, laid-back teacher who enjoys getting to know her students. Students will learn finger numbers, the names of the notes on the keys, how to read movement of notes on the treble clef staff, and some piano technique.
A piano or keyboard (it doesn't have to include all 88 keys). Music will be provided for the student to use, please check the classroom for new music before it starts. The music will need to be printed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
