Description
Class Experience
Learners will be taught a song each week. Over the semester, we will cover note reading, rhythm counting, musical intervals, scales, dynamics, tempo, and articulation with fun games and a slideshow sent to each learner so practicing can continue during the week between classes.
We will be progressing through songs at a pace of one song per week. Students who practice the songs between classes will have a repertoire of many songs by the end of the semester. Recommended practice time is 15 minutes per practice, four or five times between classes. If a class is missed, the recording will be available on our classroom page and the slideshow will still be updated with the new song.
Learners will need to be able to view their screen during class as this is where the new music will be displayed and taught. Learners will get access to a class slideshow after class with the songs and instructions updated weekly for practicing. Learners will need a keyboard or piano and paper and pencil.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no assessment in this class.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
