Class Experience
This class is perfect for beginning piano students to learn the basics of piano through FUN & PLAY This is a weekly, ongoing class for a small group of beginner piano students. Students will learn all of the fundamental basics of playing the piano including learning songs, reading music, notes on the staff, names of the white and black keys, and simple rhythms. Hi Everyone! My name is Miss Diana. I love to teach piano techniques that help my students discover their own unique sound and style of expression. I encourage positivity, fun, and confidence in my classes. I am always so excited to work with my students and that energy never fails to spark creativity and active imaginations. I believe involvement in performing arts is a fantastic and important way for kids to discover who they are and how to express themselves. They learn to be open-minded as they literally put themselves in other people's shoes. The confidence, expressiveness, and empathy that kids learn in performance arts bleed into every aspect of their life. A bit about me, I received my degree in piano performance from the University of Western Ontario and hold the ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. My teaching approach is centered on the individual learning style of each of my students. I believe every student is unique and requires a tailored approach that caters to the specific needs and goals of each student. My focus is on empowering my students to express themselves and make independent musical decisions. I incorporate a variety of strategies that aim to develop an understanding of the music, inviting students to think creatively and explore new avenues in their learning. *For private lessons please message me directly.
Learners are encouraged to practice each week's song in between sections.
Students should have a piano or electric keyboard during the lesson.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
