2 in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will follow along in their lesson book. Each lesson will begin with a review. New material is introduced each week, and students will have the opportunity to work on it during class with their own piano/keyboard. At the end of each class, I outline what should be practiced during the week. I also give tips on how practice time should be used. In this course, we cover C position on the grand staff, bass clef, treble clef, legato playing, tied notes, as well as introduce the idea of musical intervals.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their note reading ability and expand their knowledge of musical terms and symbols. Technique will also be assessed as students learn a broader range of articulations. It is at this level that students will really begin to play independently.

Parental Guidance

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Memorial University of Newfoundland
My previous teaching experience allows me to assess a student's learning style quickly. I am then able to deliver a lesson that is tailor made for their own strengths! I understand that students take lessons so that they can play music they love - not just melodies from a lesson book. My fun, yet effective teaching style strikes a balance whereby my students are engaged, encouraged and enthusiastic towards learning!
