Learning to play an instrument can be fun and rewarding and a skill that your child will find benefit from throughout their life. So why not have fun while learning! Students will learn the fundamentals of the piano, rhythm, note reading, technique, and musicality. We will discuss right hand- and left-hand position, starting with the C position. We will discuss basic theory such as grand staff, time signature, rhythm, and repeat signs. If the student has more experience, we will start where they are and as ready, dive into key signatures, dynamics and technique. Favorite songs will be included as brought to class!
Several years of teaching experience with a varied age range and level of students, classically trained.
Homework Offered
Play the piano! Enjoy the sounds you create and play daily to improve on the skills learned each week.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Assessment will be based on listening to the student enjoy playing the pieces introduced each class, and include the rhythm, notation style and dynamics. Each week we will aim to learn new concepts and progress through chosen pieces.Grades Offered
Piano or keyboard, lesson books discussed, and a pencil and paper!
