This is a 2 week session , for 4-11 year old children, to introduce them to the piano , or for them to continue learning after their ' "Introduction to Beginner Piano" course.

Class experience

The student will learn to play some simple songs. 
They will feel more confident about playing piano. 
Students will learn where the notes are on the keyboard and the be able to find their way around the piano keyboard. 
Students will learn a couple of basic scales. 
The student will learn to play some basic chords. 
We will do some basic improvising on a scale with the right hand.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher.  I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. 
I was head of the music department at a private high  school in Maryland. 
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. 

Homework Offered
I recommend that the student practices for 15 min , 2- 3 3 times per week. All of your practice materials will be posted in the outschool classroom.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessment . Regular communication with the student in regards to strengths and things they may need to work on.
Grades Offered
Piano or Electric keyboard. 
It is helpful for the student to be on zoom with 2 devices at once. 
One device for them to see me , and the music I have on screen share. 
The other device arranged si that I can see their fingers on the piano keys , to help them with the notes and proper hand and wrist positioning. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

I may occasionally play a YouTube video of a song we are learning, so that the student can hear how the song goes. 
No outside sources are required
