This class is a continuation of "Introduction To Piano Fundamentals" that takes your piano studies to the next level.
Class experience
In this course, we will work on reading music for the piano in C position. We will cover reading Treble Clef and Bass Clef with a sure-fire approach to knowing the notes with 100% accuracy. We will then learn legato articulation and the intervals. In the final stages, we will play songs with both hands at the same time. Students will learn C position in both hands, reading standard notation in Bass and Treble clef, legato vs. non-legato touch, and musical intervals. Towards the end of the eight-week course learners will be eased into the polyphonic possibilities of the piano and play with both hands at the same time.
Homework Offered
Please practice your Alfred Level 1A piano book for 10-15 minutes daily. Daily practice ensures that no one gets left behind in our studies.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The assessment is informal. All we want is progress. Progress is assessed by the learner's demonstration of understanding the concepts presented.Grades Offered
