Beginner - Intermediate Level
Individual piano instruction with a focus on introducing the styles of music that the student is most interested in learning. Music theory, ear training, improvisation, and sight reading are all skills that can be practiced and strengthened through these individual lessons. This approach is most beneficial for someone who already has a beginning level of knowledge and experience on the piano, and who has an interest in expanding their musical experience, however students new to the piano are also welcome. Aurore has experience playing classical, as well as jazz and improvisational music and enjoys incorporating a variety of musical styles and songs in her lessons.
Learning Goals
We will spend time studying music theory, technique, sight reading, ear training and improvisation, with a focus on the style of playing and songs that most interest the individual student. We will have fun. Let me know what interests you!
Other Details
Learning Needs
Piano playing supports fine motor and auditory processing skills. Aurore has worked as an educational support teacher and has experience working with children on the spectrum.
Supply List
A piano or full-sized, weighted keyboard is recommended. Pencil and paper, songbooks on teacher recommendation, based upon the student's interests.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
