In these fun high energy ongoing classes, young musicians will learn basic music concepts and piano skills! Learners will build their musical vocabulary and learn about rhythm/beat with movement activities and songs. Counting, left/right hand and letter recognition are practiced because they are an important component of beginning piano. We will also play games to learn keyboard geography, explore improvisation and basic music theory such as note values. At the end of each class, learners will get to guess the "Mystery Instrument" which is an instrument other than piano that they will get to see, hear and learn about. To help with learning, we will be joined by a variety of fun puppet friends! Learners can join in any week, as we will continue to review concepts. This is a great class to take before starting private one-on-one lessons! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Dayle and I am a group and private music teacher! I am a graduate of Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University. I have been performing professionally and teaching music for the past 9 years. I believe that the best way for children to learn music is just like they learn language- early, gradually and continuously. I make learning music fun! I love to collect musical instruments and have a large collection of both common and unusual instruments that I share in my classes!
