***A PIANO BOOK IS NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS *** (see the link under "Supplies" to purchase a hard or digital copy) This class picks up where "Piano for Young Beginners Class A - 4 weeks" left off! You can enroll in this course without having taken the initial four-week course, but I do suggest that your child enroll in my one-time "Piano for Young Beginners" course if they have never taken lessons. Students will definitely need a piano or a keyboard! In this course we will use the "Faber...
Students will be expected to practice for at least 20 minutes outside of class time. Most of the time my students want to practice longer!
A PIANO BOOK IS NEEDED FOR THIS COURSE (see below for more information) Students need a piano or keyboard. It's preferable to have a keyboard with at least 61 keys, but a smaller one can be used until the student knows for sure that they want to invest more time in piano. I also need to be able to see the students' fingers on the keys. The laptop/iPad/tablet can be placed at a side or top angle to allow me to have a good view. The piano book that will be used is "Piano Adventures by Nancy and Randall Faber Primer Level". It can be purchased on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Primer-Level-Lesson-Piano-Adventures/dp/1616770759/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=9781616770754&qid=1594950162&sr=8-1 It can also be purchased directly from the Faber site: https://pianoadventures.com/browse/levels/levels-primer-level/ A printer will also be needed to print some handouts each week. If it's difficult to have access to a printer, an iPad or other tablet can probably be used to view the music and mark it.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
