In this 4-week class, we will start at the beginning using the "Fired Up" series by Piano Pronto. We will also learn about chords and lead sheets in future sessions of this class.

Description
Class Experience
This course is perfect for older students who want to learn at a slightly faster pace without songs geared toward little kids. You can take this class with no experience at all in music, or if you know the basics. We will use the "Fired Up Level 1" piano book by Piano Pronto. By the end of this class, students should be able to sight read simple songs. They should also be able to label beginning notes, highlight repeated notes, circle skips, etc. This will enable them to become great sight readers!
Students will progress faster if they practice outside of class time. Even 20 minutes per day will drastically help them learn more material.
Each student needs a piano or keyboard and I need to be able to see their fingers on the keys. Usually if a laptop/iPad is set up at a side angle it works very well! A keyboard with at least 61 keys is preferred, but a smaller one can be used. Students will need a copy of the piano book, "Fired Up Level 1" by Piano Pronto. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
