Homework assigned is piano practice at least three times a week.Class Experience
This is a ongoing beginning piano class that is modified for the specific learner and learner paced. A sample schedule will look like as follows: Week of January 25 Theme: Introduction to the piano. We will learn about piano posture and finger numbers. We will also talk about the music alphabet and how it is different than the English alphabet. Week of February 1 Theme: What is a quarter note? We will then play a song from the music book. Week of February 8 Theme: What is a half note and a whole note? We will learn about these two notes and their time duration in music. We will play songs from the music book assigned. Week of February 15 Theme: Treble Clef and Bass Clef. We will learn the treble and bass clef and which hands usually play in these clefs. We will then play music from the music book. Throughout class, we will use games from musicplayonline.com as well as Kahoot to assess the learners understanding of material learned throughout class. If a student needs a practice video, one will be provided in the classroom (via link to Google Drive).

The goal is for the student to progress in their piano skills.
