One on one lessons, individualized to the unique learner's level and musical interests, with a relaxed and fun style

Class experience

Students will learn where the notes are on the keyboard and the be able to find their way around the keyboard. 
Students will learn a couple of basic scales. 
The student will learn to play some basic chords with both  the left and right hands. 
We will do some basic improvising on a scale with the right hand , along with some chords in the left hand. 
The student will learn some basic warm - up exercises for each hand. 
They will be able to play with confidence and feel comfortable with the keyboard. .
have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher.  I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. 
I was head of the music department at a private high  school in Maryland. 
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio. 

Homework Offered
I will suggest some things to practice between each lesson. Any papers or short videos needed for practicing will be posted in the Outschool classroom. Students can access those materials each week, as they need them.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessment and communication about how the student is progressing, and what they need to focus on.
Grades Offered
A piano or Electric keyboard. 
For electric keyboard- a way to plug it into a nearby outlet, or batteries for the instrument. 
A way to set up their device for Zoom, so that I can see their hands on the instrument, for teaching purposes.
