Piano Classes for Young Musicians
In this 8 week classes, students will learn to read music and perform 1 or 2 songs at the end of the 8 weeks.

I will be teaching piano lessons, including reading notes, playing the piano, solfege singing for ear training, My style of teaching is through the sensory skills of touch, listening, visual and imagination. Students will be playing for eachother in class, there will be a lot of interaction between teacher and students, students and students. There will be video clips to show examples of dynamics, learning about our piece, and the composer that we are learning. In order to take this class, each student must have a keyboard or piano at home. Class breakdown: Outschool schedule Week 1: 1. Introducing our class 2. Introducing our instrument 3. Introducing our first song 4. Give homework/going over homework Week 2: 1. Technique/Warm up 2. Teach a new song/piece (8 measures) 3. Go around each student and have them play what they learned 4. Talk about the composer of the piece we are learning 5. Assign homework Week 3: 1. Review last week’s homework (8 measures) & Composer 2. Have each student play last week’s homework in front of class. 3. Learn new 8 measures of music 4. Learn about dynamics 5. Assign homework Week 4: 1. Review the entire piece/song (walk through with students) 2. Turn in last week’s homework 3. Have the student play for each other (entire piece) 4. Learn a new piece (4 measures of notes, dynamics & phrasing) 5. Review dynamics 6. Learn about the new composer Week 5: 1. Go over both composers (have students share in class) 2. Play for eachother (first piece and second piece) 3. Review last week’s written homework 4. Learn new 4 measures of the second piece Week 6: 1. Review second song (8 measures) 2. Play for eachother (second piece) 3. Play the first song for eachother 4. Go over new assignment Week 7: 1. Play for eachother (last week’s homework 2. Check written assignment and rhythm 3. Learn the second piece (8 new measures) 4. Listen to clips of what we’ve learned so far 5. Prepare them for last class which is our performance class Week 8: Performance class, everyone perform for eachother the two pieces we accomplished in class. Guests are welcome to watch the performance.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to read music and play the piano. Student will understand phrasing, which hand carries the melody, which hand are the harmonies and how to approach that. Students will learn how to play music with dynamics. Learn the basic music theory reflecting what we are learning. And the composer of the piece of song that we are learning. Students will be able to perform for each other throughout the 8 weeks period.

In 2015 Ms Agnes won The Most “Passionate Spirit” award from Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment. 2009/2010 she won The Most “Innovative” award with Walt Disney’s English & Print Department. 1996 Ms Chu had an opportunity to Work with Tim Burton and Danny Elfman on Warner Brothers Motion Picture “Mars Attacks. 1997 she Premiered a couple Women Composers in London with the International Women Alliance in Music.
Ms Agnes is a certified Harmony Road Music Group Lessons Teacher. She holds a music performance degree from California Institute of the Arts. She is also a member of Music Teacher Association of California. Every year Ms Chu sends students out to competition and evaluation like CM or ABRSM. Students always come back with passing higher score, merit, distinction and top 3 places winners for competitions. She was a music advisor for Walt Disney and she produces EP music album for students, you can hear the album “Front Row” on Spotify, YouTube, CD baby, Google play and Amazon.
She had worked with musicians from Fitz and Tantrum, the writer from Married with Children. And family from the producer of Galligan’s Island.
