Class Experience

**Please note - This class is NOT for beginners. To make the most of this class, students should be at a basic level of piano playing, knowing the notes on the piano, what sharps and flats are, can read treble clef notes from C-C, and can play with both hands. If you are unsure if your student has these prerequisites, please message me.**

Let’s take piano playing to the next level! This class will teach the basics of piano chording, and playing a song with a chord chart. Instead of playing a song only by reading the notes, students will learn how to play the basic chords for a song. They will also learn how to harmonize a melody with their own chords.

For a quick introduction to this method, you may want to check out my other one time course first, “Chording Fast Track- Twinkle Twinkle”. This course is an extension of that one time class, but is not a requirement to join this course.

The class schedule will be:

Day 1
-Review/teach coloured chords
-Play a simple song with the coloured chords
-Co-relate the coloured chords to a chord chart
-Learn a broken chord pattern

Day 2
-Transpose to new key (including minors)
-Harmonize a song with the coloured chords
-Introduction of a few more common chords
-Learn another broken chord pattern

Day 3
-Chord charts- playing along with someone
-Chord charts-finding the melody
Learning Goals
Students will able to harmonize a song with simple piano chords, and they will able to play a song from a chord chart.
