Introductory piano course with basic playing skills in a small group with a supportive atmosphere! In 4 lessons, we will learn note reading, piano keys, finger numbers, right hand or left hand music, counting beats, and songs!
Class Experience
Beginner Level
This 4 day Piano Camp is an introduction to piano lessons for beginners or review for students who have taken a long break from piano lessons. During the 4-class in one week course, the lessons will build upon the knowledge of the prior coursework at the speed of the learners' abilities. Practice between classes is highly recommended. Access to a keyboard/piano and view of the screen while playing is necessary to participate during classtime. If you are unsure if this is the right level for...
Students will learn finger numbers, keys on the piano, Treble Clef and Bass Clef notes, note values, counting beats, finger exercises, and simple songs for each hand alone and both hands. Learners also experience playing in front of a small group of other learners and listening to other learners.
Homework Offered
Homework will be practice time in between scheduled lesson times. A total of approximately 15-30 minutes should be enough to secure the information and be prepared for the next lesson. The practice expectations will be emailed with the slideshow to the learner at the end of each class. Slides may be printed at the parent's discretion. Some slides will be duplicates of previous classes as we review the information. Students need to be able to view the screen share with my hints and helper markings during class. Printed slides are great for practice time when learners are taking a break from screen-time.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Grades Offered
Learners will need to view the new music on their screen during class. The music will be provided in the Learner e-mail following class that can be printed or viewed online for praciticing. Learners are NOT required to purchase any books or materials to participate in this class since I arrange or compose all of the music myself and provide it in the slideshow. Each learner should have access to a piano or music keyboard. Having paper and a pencil to take notes is helpful for some learners.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Our class uses Google Slides on screen and in the email shared for printing.
