Class Experience

This camp requires basic piano knowledge and experience and is a great supplement to private lessons or group classes. Learn movie music, pop hits, learn how to improvise, and have fun! Each week will have different songs.

Sample Beginner Piano camp itinerary:

Monday - Favorite Color Day
-Introductions 
-Review piano basics like finger numbers, high/low notes
-Begin first song: movie music

Tuesday - Pajama Day
-Review song from first day and start new song: pop hit
-Piano games

Wednesday - Silly Hat/Hair Day
-Finish pop hit
-Intro to improvising

Thursday - Silly Face Day
-Review songs and continue improvisation practice
-Talk about virtual recital

Friday - Fancy Day
-Dress rehearsal for virtual recital!
-Everyone practices the 1 song or improv piece they will perform
-End with fun day of games!

All of our teachers have at least a Bachelor of Music degree, years of teaching experience, and go through a competitive application process. Many of our teachers have worked with organizations like the LA Philharmonic, LA Master Chorale, Classical KUSC, LA Opera, LA Chamber Orchestra, and more.

Owned and managed by Alana Miles, who is also one of our piano and clarinet teachers. Alana has three young children, ages 6, 4, and 2, and homeschools her 1st grader. She has always had a passion for teaching, starting with teaching swim lessons at age 15, and clarinet and piano since age 18. She has taught for many organizations, including the Orange County School of Arts, Young Musician's Foundation, and YOLA.
