Class Experience
Students will receive individualized instruction based on their specific level and goals. Lessons will cover theory, technique, as well as performance and practice tips. Class will be divided into 2 sections. The first 30 minutes will be for piano and the second half will be for voice. Each section will start with warmups, and a brief review before introducing new material. Students will improve their playing ability and note reading (theory) during their piano lesson. Vocal lessons will work to improve technical areas such as projection, breath support, diction, stage presence, etc. In general, students will build confidence as they gain musical skills and independance during our lessons.
Working with students to improve their musical abilities gives me a great deal of satisfaction. I have been a piano and voice teacher for the past 20 years, and I have a proven track record for providing quality instruction in a fun and engaging manner. Helping students succeed and build self confidence is my main goal!
Students will be asked to practice during the week to implement the skills covered in each lesson. Practice times will vary from student to student, so we will work together to find a productive and convenient practice schedule. As mentioned in the description, students will be guided on how to use their practice time to get the maximum benefit.
Students will be assessed during their first lesson, and I will recommend specific materials they may need to purchase at the end of that class. I will provide everything necessary to get started.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
