In this 10 week online piano class, piano students who are looking to build their skills will dive into the next level of their musicianship with the Piano Adventures Level 1 lesson book! *THIS COURSE IS NOT A BEGINNER PIANO CLASS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BEGINNER PIANO CLASS, PLEASE REGISTER FOR MY BEGINNER PIANO FLEX COURSE!* Students should have completed the Piano Adventures Primer Level or equivalent piano book/course to be ready to join this class :) Students will learn: -Legato and Staccato -Treble and Bass Notes -Rests (quarter, half, and whole) -Intervals -Tonic and Dominant Notes -I and V7 Chords -The C Chord -G scale -Accidentals (sharps and flats) Students will need to purchase "Piano Adventures Level 1 Lesson Book" by Nancy and Randall Faber. It can be found on several online retailers and in person at most local music stores. Students will also need a keyboard or a piano to practice and play on. Although we do not meet live, this course promotes active student engagement through guided video walkthroughs of each unit, recordings, and worksheets. Students will upload their completed assignments for a comprehension check, and will also be able to "perform" each week by sharing a video or recording of themselves playing the practice songs for that week showing their progress! By the end of this course, students will be able to masterfully play many songs on the piano and will be ready to advance in their piano performance instruction and skills. This is a fantastic and affordable way to learn the piano through flexible and quality instruction :) Playing the piano is a skill no person ever regrets learning as a child - it is a fantastic way to introduce your child to music! Music ignites all areas of the brain and promotes positive growth in all areas of adolescent development!
