Class experience
The hardest part about music lessons is getting started and sticking with it. How many grown-ups do we know who say "I played piano as a kid, but let it go. I just didn't get into it." What a tragedy! This 10-week class is a continuation of Pre-Lesson Piano and Primer Piano for the Creative Kid. We recommend beginners take both of those classes before beginning this one. This class is taught in English.
Students will gain un understanding of basic harmony, play rhythmic figures with accuracy, and learn note names on both the table and bass clefs.
Georgia has had the privilege of teaching thousands children and teens music over the past decade as a private instructor, community music teacher, and teaching artist. She is an active working musician in Pittsburgh, has recorded three full-length albums, and makes visual art. She graduated from Berklee College of Music with honors in 2014, with a BA in songwriting, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Music Therapy at Duquesne University to better inform the mental-health supporting elements of the You Be You curriculum.
