What Will Be Taught? In this STEM class, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of sound and light. Through interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will explore the properties of waves, the nature of sound and light, and the principles of perception. Topics Covered: Please refer to our syllabus for information on topics covered. How is the Class Structured? The class is structured into four interactive lessons, each focusing on a specific physics concept. Each lesson includes a brief lecture, demonstrations, hands-on experiments, and interactive discussions to reinforce learning. The course is designed to build knowledge progressively, allowing students to connect concepts and apply them in real-world contexts. How Will You Teach? Our teaching style is interactive and student-centered, focusing on experiential learning. We utilize a blend of methods, including: - Lectures: Short, engaging explanations of key concepts. - Games and Activities: Fun, practical experiments that students can try at home. - Slides and Visual Aids: Visual presentations to illustrate complex ideas. - Video Clips: Short videos to demonstrate physics in action. - Discussion and Q&A: Open discussions to encourage curiosity and critical thinking. What’s Your Teaching Style? Our teaching style emphasizes hands-on learning, curiosity, and exploration. We create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their ideas. The goal is to inspire a love of science and empower students to think like scientists. How Much Will Learners Get to Interact with You? Learners will have ample opportunities for interaction, including: - Lectures and Discussions: Each session includes time for questions and discussions, allowing students to engage with the material and the instructor. - Games and Hands-On Activities: Students will participate in experiments and activities, fostering an interactive and collaborative learning experience. - Interactive Q&A Sessions: Dedicated time for addressing student inquiries and deepening understanding of the topics. This class offers a unique blend of education and entertainment, making physics fun and relatable for students. Join us and discover the wonders of everyday physics!
Learning Goals
Students will gain an understanding of key physics concepts around sound and light.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Ronita Nandy has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from University of Kentucky. She has over 20 years of engineering and program management experience. Ronita was born and brought up in India. Ever since she can remember, she had the tinkerer mindset and the itch to break open everyday objects to understand how they worked. But she never had the environment or tools to encourage her curiosity. Now, as the Founder of Maker Mindz, she is looking to spark the same curiosity and joy of learning STEM concepts by making it a fun, active, hands-on learning experience.
