US Grade 1 - 2
In this course, students will ask and answer questions about types of matter, identify solids, liquids, and gases and their characteristics. Students will describe how water moves through all three stages of matter. We will ask and answer questions about the sun, describe why the sun's light is important. Students will identify and explain how shadows are made. We will also learn how to protect ourselves from the sun. The class will be structured with an introduction that accesses students' prior knowledge on different physical science-related topics, then move into the main Science lesson. We will conduct a short experiment, then finish with an independent practice activity. The independent practice activity will directly relate to our lesson for the day.
