Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
🩸This is an Ongoing Class and a student may join and drop-in any week of the class.
This course will cover topics on Chemistry and Physics. All the concepts will be discussed and explained in an engaging way so that the student is able to understand, retain the learning and continue to build on the learning.
The learning will drive student inquiry throughout this course and the students will have multiple opportunities to interact with me throughout this course.

🩸🩸🩸
1. I will be sharing a "Review Note sheet" on the topic discussed in class so that the student may review all that was learned during class.
2. An optional 'hands-on' activity or 'creating a model or prototype' activity sheet will be shared after class. It will require common materials used at home. The student may choose to do this anytime at home during the week and share this during the next class.

🩸🩸
First 3 minutes - Welcome to students and introduction of the topic to be discussed.
Next 40 minutes the teacher will share a Google Slides presentation to learn and explore the concepts with examples. After a few slides each time there will be short video clips from credible educational sources that will help learners to reinforce the concepts learned.
Students are welcome to discuss and ask questions to make the class more interactive. Learners may use graphics/flowchart/concept maps for noting these concepts.
Last 2 minutes students will share their learning with the class, review the topic, discuss and may ask relevant and essential questions as well. Alternatively they will be working on a simulation.

If there is a schedule conflict anytime in a week, then please let me know and I will be happy to make the transfer to another section of this class for a different day and/or time if there is an open section.

🩸Since I share videos in class that require permission and subscription, I have permission to play them in class but do not have permission to share them online, therefore I am unable to share the class recording. But I am always willing to make a transfer to another section of the week for a missed class. Thanks.:)

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Non-US Teaching Certificate in Science
I am offering this class because I am passionate about science and the natural world.
I am always excited to observe things and try to find out why things work in nature the way they do. I am also excited about solving problems. I love to build prototypes to test my hypothesis and to try to find solution to a problem.

I have been in the field of education teaching science and technology for the last 34 years and have worked with all age groups of students. I have worked with students with different learning needs and differentiated my instruction based on their needs. I have also worked with Early English language learners and modified my pedagogy and methodology to suit individual needs.
